Galpin Ford — a Friend of Rodeo!
by Linda Burdick, Executive Director, Friends of Rodeo Organization

Galpin Ford made a major move toward its support of rodeo and our Western Heritage by donating $5,000 to Friends of Rodeo. The contribution was spotlighted at the Galpin Partners "Cowboy Palace Kickoff" party that was held February 23 at the Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth, California.

The event was hosted by Galpin Motors and their newly formed Galpin Equine Rodeo Division. There were representatives from several equine, western, and rodeo businesses also on hand to display their wares and to promote their partnership with Galpin and its support of our industry. Those vendors included Calabasas Saddlery, Circle K Horse Rentals, Country General Store, Cowboy Palace, Dominion Saddlery, Friends of Rodeo, Kings Western Wear, Osborne Riding Stables, Rand's Custom Hats, Roll-A-Long, Silver King, Stephens Hay & Grain, Thornbury Custom Chaps, and Wild West Trailers. Larry Dean & the Shooters, a local band, provided awesome country music throughout the night.

Several rodeo contestants were also on hand, such as PRCA team ropers Paul Mullins, Tim Weyer, Mike Boyle, and Scott Perez. Local team ropers at the event included Jim Perez, Dar Perez, Robert Perez, Cobb Oxford, and Cary Languein. PRCA barrel racers Cary Olson and Shelley Boyle rounded out the list of contestants on hand for the event. There were many other local invited guests in attendance who helped to make it a night of fun, networking, and a showing of a united force organized by Galpin Ford to promote and advance rodeo and its events.

Phil Englander, Commercial Accounts Manager with Galpin Ford, started the event off by introducing and explaining the Galpin Equine Rodeo Division and its plans of sponsorship of rodeo and equine events. He then introduced all the VIP's in attendance and explained their partnership with Galpin. The night was capped off with Friends of Rodeo being asked to come up on stage with Brad Boeckmann, Vice President of Galpin Motors. Once up there Linda Burdick, Executive Director of Friends of Rodeo, was presented with a large replica of a check from Galpin Ford for $5,000. The donation was met with a standing ovation and a rounding applause from everyone. Brad Boeckmann thanked Friends of Rodeo for all their efforts in promoting and preserving America's Western Heritage and promised an ongoing partnership and support of Friends of Rodeo and its goal to keep rodeo as America's #1 sport.

Friends of Rodeo, a national non-profit organization, is deeply appreciative of the support and contribution by Galpin Ford — the funds will go a long way to further our cause. We hope every cowboy, cowgirl, and member of Friends of Rodeo will contact Galpin Ford to see how they can assist them in their next truck or car purchase — have Phil explain Galpin's "rodeo rates" and all that they can offer you. Even if you aren't in the market for a new vehicle right now, still call and let them know how much you appreciate Galpin's support! Phil Englander can be reached at 818-778-2171 — let him know you read about this in Ropers Sports News and that you support Friends of Rodeo. If you want more information on Galpin Ford check them out at www.GoGalpin.com or go by their dealership at 15505 Roscoe Boulevard in North Hills, California.
